S&S 4-inch Bore Super
Sidewinder "Long Blocks" offer a superior large displacement
engine alternative for riders, racers and customer builders. Super sidewinder
"Long Blocks are complete 92-99 style high performance motors featuring
high quality S&S components and craftsmanship. Each block is expertly
assembled by experienced S&S engine builders to ensure the the utmost
reliability and performance.
Features
- Special Super Sidewinder cylinder heads with chrome billet rocker covers
and a redesigned combustion chamber design that produces maximum performance.
- Big 2" intake and 1.605" exhaust valves for optimum flow at
real life RPM
- Special application Super Stock crankcase is cast from from 365-T6 aluminium
alloy and reinforced for maximum strength.
- Crankcase gear cavity is moved out 1/4" to provide additional support
around cylinder spigots. Special tappet blocks and a 1/4" longer
pinion shaft are used to accommodate this feature. Balanced flywheels
are assembled with heavy duty con rods and shafts are trued to within
.0005" lateral runout.
- Aluminium 4" bore cylinders have cast ribbed liners and forged
flat top pistons.
- S&S 600 high performance camshaft, tappet blocks, lifters with HL2T
kit and adjustable chromemoly pushrods.
- Super "G" carby kit with special manifold and chrome teardrop
air cleaner assembly
The complete Super Sidewinder kit includes everything but the charging
system and ignition. Engine will fit any stock or after market Big Twin
chassis that accommodate 1984 up stock Evo engines.

Complete 4 1/8" Bore Super Sidewinder Plus
The all new S&S Super
Sidewinder Plus (SSW+) V2 Big Twin style long blocks offer the ultimate
in performance and the latest technology for owners of 1984-'99 Evolution
Big Twin motorcycles. With 41/8" bore these are the largest street
engines S&S has ever offered, but thats not the end of the story.
The new 41/8" bore cylinders and SSW+ cylinder heads have bigger
fins for improved cooling. By coupling the new cylinders with 41/8",
43/8", and 45/8" strokes, we can offer displacements of 111",
117", and 124".
To make the best use of those cubic inches, all SSW+ engines are equipped
with the S&S Super G carburettor and the new S&S 585 camshaft
for the 111", the S&S 600 camshaft for the 117", and the
new S&S 640 camshaft for the 124".
In addition to the improved cooling and larger displacement, the SSW+
engines have a number of exclusive features that enhance performance and
improve engine life. Special crankcases are used to house the SSW+'s 41/8"
bore cylinders and the pressed together flywheel assembly. A special newly
designed oil pump provides higher oil volume, maintains higher oil pressure,
and increases crankcase oil scavenging. Oiling jets provide a spray of
cooling oil to the bottoms of the pistons whenever the oil pressure is
over 10 psi, and with the new oil pump, that is anytime the engine speed
is above idle.
The crankcases are machined to return top end oil directly to the cam
chest instead of to the flywheel cavity. This prevents crankcase pressure
from travelling up the cylinder head oil drain passages and pressurising
the rocker boxes. In addition, a one way valve in the breather circuit
prevents air from entering the crankcase through the breather. The resulting
decrease in internal engine pressure reduces oil leaks and oil carryover.
Assembled long block super sidewinder plus v2 style 111" 117"
124" The SSW+ cylinders are machined from stress relieved aluminium
castings with cast-in iron liners. Each cylinder has vertical fins in
the front and rear that serve to increase cylinder rigidity. Better cylinder
rigidity means better dimensional stability as well as reduced transmission
of mechanical noise. These engines are only available complete. Fits all
EVO frames (stock height)
